What defines dental diseases? It is the variety of disorders that affect the gums, teeth and bone.Did you know that an estimated 85% of the population has some form of dental disease? There are many common dental diseases that affect the population. One of the diseases is gum disease, which occurs in three stages: gingivitis, periodontitis and advanced periodontitis. Gingivitis is the early first early stage and easily reversible.Periodontitis is when the inflammation and gingivitis spreads down to the roots and patients will experience gum recession. The third stage is the more advanced and will result in major bone loss and recession. At this point, it may be too late to save the tooth.
